Long Distance Relationship story (Indonesia-Afghanistan)

When did you meet?
India at October 2012. 
How did you met?
I was in India for 3 weeks for student delegation and he stayed there since 3 years for bachelor and will be there in the next 2 year continuing master degree. I stayed in my Indonesian friend's house who is his roommate. 
How old are you?
I am 21 and he is 27.
How long have you bee dating?
Since October 22nd, 2012.
Where are you guys from?
I'm Indonesian, he is Afghanistan
How far apart do you live?
2,876 miles (count where we are now which is Indonesia-India)
Do your parents support your relationship?
Yes, our parents and family support us a lot. But my parents keep asking of his seriousness to hold this relation and they were considered some cases which has happened in Indonesia that mostly middle east citizen use their wife to move their life into better place. You know, no body wants to stay forever in a war country and spend their life in worry and scare. 
What was their reaction when first time know your relationship?
They were surprised. Our parents never imagine to probably have such a son/daughter in law who is a foreigner. At first they were considered how can we stay in this distance, how will we visit each other, when will we get marry and where will we stay. Cause Mirwais tries to find a new nationality or at least a place which is so much better than his country. He is considering couples way like get new nationality, find scholarship and/or get a job, wherever doesn't really matter.  He just doesn't want to stay in his country anymore with its unstable situation of civil war.
How often have you seen each other?
Two times. 
Who visit who?
I visit him in India, at least for now cause he found difficulties get tourist visa for Indonesia
Do you parents like Mirwais?
Yes, they love him :)
What's your status now with Mirwais?
I'm his fiancee :)
When did he propose you?
Last summer, August 20th, 2012 when I visit him. He gave a very amazing surpise
How did he propose you?
He lied to me once and said I can't accompany me to join Indonesian gathering for dinner. He wanted me to look so pretty that night, it's so strange cause he never wants me to do so. When I went to the restaurant with other Indonesian friends, he was there with a bucket of red rose. He announced to everyone about us and propose me in front of them. Exactly said "Will you marry me?". I was overwhelmed and love him more :)
Did your parents know about his proposal?
Yes, he asked my dad even before :)
Are you going to live together?
Yes, we plan to get marry in Afghanistan or India or Indonesia or wherever.
How do you make a long distance relationship last?
Communication, trust and love are the most crucial things to have. At least communicate to each other everyday, 5 minutes, 10 minutes cause it means to each other at least to hear voice and say 'I love you' or to just inform each other where you are, what are you doing, with whom are you. Use any kind of social media as many as possible unless you have your private time and deal with call schedule. I use Skype and Facebook cause we are busy and have plenty of time checking them in night time. Trust is the hardest thing to do. You will never know what he does there, with whom, or did he really do what you said, you suggest and that's the point of trust. Never hope your LDR works without trust. And love, build your love everyday, make a surprise, joke, change a bit your appearance to make him happy and seeing something new from you. It's good for refreshment since you can't easily meet. Also, do stupid thing on skype, like kissing on camera or make a funny video of your story. I gave him a surprise video on his birthday and send him a love letter for our anniversary. Talking about future and things you will do when you are together is helpful too. 

 Hope this post helps those who are in same case. There's some people out there probably giving up seeing your relationship, or they say many pessimistic opinion about LDR. But it's all about you and your partner, there's nothing to do with them, you know yourself and how your relation will work. Believe in yourself, your partner and the relation, and do how lovers should be. It works if you believe!

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN: Pemandangan kota

Ternyata masih banyak orang yang menyamaratakan Kabul dengan Aleppo atau Kabul dengan Gaza. Seakan-akan tidak ada kehidupan disana. Seolah-olah internet, TV, radio dan telepon tidak bisa digunakan disana. Air, sumber makanan dan obat-obatan juga sulit didapat. Melalui blog ini, saya ingin katakan bahwa Kabul tidaklah demikian. Kabul, Afghanistan, masih seperti kota-kota pada umumnya. Masih ada kehidupan, masih ada transaksi perekonomian, masih banyak pesta pernikahan, masih ada internet, TV, radio dan telepon, masih ada kegiatan sekolah dan edukasi, masih juga ada kegiatan di rumah sakit dengan obat-obatan yang mudah di dapat. Rock Festival of Agriculture in Tsuruoka, 29 September 2013

Aku rasa festival ini selalu ada setiap tahun di Tsuruoka, namanya Rock Festival of Agriculture. Rock karena di tengah-tengah festival ada konser musik rock. Agriculture karena poin utamanya adalah pameran tentang hasil pertanian dan peternakan di Tsuruoka. Kurasa musik rock dijadikan pemancing daya tarik agar anak muda mau datang dan menganggap dunia pertanian tak kalah canggih dnegan dunia IT. Selain itu, pameran ini juga membuka kesempatan untuk mahasiswa yang aktif dalam club tertentu untuk memamerkan kegiatan mereka. Selain membuat mereka makin terkenal, daya tarik makhluk-makhluk imut di jepang juga harus dikenalkan dengan dunia selain di bangku sekolah. Festival ini bertempat di Agriculture Field of Yamagata University.
